VC addressing Regional Media Officers

The Vice-Chancellor, 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof.聽Olufemi Peters,聽has commended the聽director and staff of聽the聽Directorate of Media and聽Publicity (DMP), 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN)聽for playing a strategic role in the growth and development of the university.

Peters made this commendation聽in his office on Thursday, August 4, 2022,聽while playing host to the Regional Media聽Officers of the directorate and other media staff led by the director, Malam Ibrahim聽Sheme.

鈥淭hank you all for what you have been doing;聽you have been doing a good job and supporting the university.聽Your work is so visible and your publication is top notch.

鈥淚 am glad with the directorate.聽You have done well in publicising the university and tackling bad press about the institution,鈥 the Vice-Chancellor said.

He聽also commended the聽six聽Regional Media聽Officers from geopolitical zones for their relentless efforts in making sure that information about the study centres is being聽publicised,聽which,聽he said,聽gives him聽a聽first-hand information of what is happening in the study centres of the university.

The Vice-Chancellor聽further eulogised聽the director for his selflessness聽leadership style聽in leading the media team with his wealth of experience in journalism. 鈥淗e is a man I enjoy working with as he is not frivolous and wise in his sayings.鈥

Peters particularly expressed delight at the operation of NOUN Radio, 105.9fm, which, he said, he listens every time he is in Lagos.

Earlier in his address, the聽director聽thanked the Vice-Chancellor聽for his benevolence towards the directorate since assumption of office.

鈥淚 sincerely appreciate your concerns towards the directorate聽with聽regards聽to聽the regional media officers, the聽radio station, magazine publication,聽among others.聽We are grateful聽Sir,鈥澛爃e聽said.

Sheme聽also聽intimated the VC on how the regional media positions聽came about in聽the university, and underscored their importance in each of the six geopolitical zones of the country.

He further identified some challenges the officers聽continue to face聽in their regions,聽even as he pleaded聽with the VC to intervene for them to discharge their assigned responsibilities as expected.

On their part, the officers thanked the VC for his kind gesture and聽particularly re-echoed聽plea聽of the director in requesting the Vice-Chancellor to address聽their challenges to enable them carry out their responsibilities hitch-free.
