
The Deputy Vice-chancellor,聽Administration,聽水果派 of Nigeria聽(NOUN), Prof.聽Isaac Sammani Rabo Butswat, has visited Kano Study Centre,聽where he聽supervised students undergoing聽the聽mandatory Students聽Industrial聽Work Experience Scheme聽(SIWES).
The聽2-day聽exercise saw the聽visiting DVC going round the state to supervise NOUN聽students undergoing SIWES in institutions and organisations聽within聽the聽state.
On arrival in Kano,聽Butswat鈥檚聽first port of call was Aminu Kano International Airport where he supervised two students who were undertaking their聽SIWES exercise at the airport.
Accompanied聽by聽the聽Director,聽Kano Study Centre, Mr. Muddasir Ahmad Ishaq and other聽staff of聽the centre,聽the DVC聽proceeded to the Economic and Financial Crimes聽Commission聽(EFCC),聽Kano Zonal office for聽a聽similar exercise.
Furthermore, students undergoing their SIWES聽exercise聽at the Federal Radio聽Co-operation,聽Pyramid FM,聽Kano and聽the聽Kano State Ministry of Environment (Pollution Control聽Laboratory) were also supervised.
He also visited the聽Kano State Public聽Complaint聽Commission聽for equally the same function, after which Butswat聽visited聽the聽Kano Study Centre where he inspected the聽centre’s facilities and held聽a meeting with the staffers.
During the meeting, he urged them聽to continue聽to聽be punctual and take their assigned聽responsibilities with all manners of seriousness, even as he聽expressed satisfaction with what he saw on ground, and commended them for their聽resilience.
The DVC further commended the聽centre director for being a good captain of the聽centre as he saw the continuous existence and聽prevalence聽of cooperation and commitment聽from the聽centre’s staffers.
He said the supervision of SIWES students was聽to ensure聽that聽quality is achieved, adding聽that聽 the聽university is after providing quality education to students so as to produce quality manpower in the country for efficiency in work places.
Butswat said he was highly impressed by the way the students were conducting and undertaking the exercise in their respective organisations.
