
The Special Study Centres for聽the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the聽National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), of the 水果派 of Nigeria, (NOUN),聽have聽held聽separate聽orientation programmes聽for freshmen.
The orientation events held聽at the respective centres聽on Thursday,聽May聽2,聽2024, and Friday,聽May聽3,聽2024, saw both聽centre聽directors welcoming聽the students to the聽university and advised them to be of good聽behaviours聽and represent the聽university well wherever they found themselves.
The students were taken聽through what they should expect studying in an Open and Distance Learning (ODL), institution like NOUN.
At the NURTW centre, Garki,聽Abuja, the Acting Director, Dr. Paul Ifeanyi used the occasion to explain to the new students that the university strongly frowns聽at examination misconducts as the university expects聽them to be of good behaviour throughout their studies.
Ifeanyi also advised them to study hard and prepare well for their examinations and make sure聽that聽they do their TMAs聽by themselves which he said would also help to prepare them ahead of examinations if they want to excel in their academic pursuit.
Similarly, the聽heads of聽unit at the聽centre, took their turns to speak to the students.
Head of Admin, Mr.聽Abass Olawale,聽introduced all staff to the students and informed them to always meet the Desk Officers whenever they have any challenges,聽while on her part,聽the Head of Store Unit, Mrs. Grace Dembo spoke in detail to the students on the avenues the university has provided聽 to make their studies easier.
At the Special Study Centre for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sauka,聽Abuja, the Acting Director, Mr.聽John Ubaji, congratulated聽the students and informed them that they made the right choice by choosing NOUN as their choice institution of learning to pursue their academic dreams.
He implored them to be of good聽behaviours聽to enable them benefit from numerous support services the university has put in place to help them with their academic journey.
Ubaji聽also told them that his office聽would always be聽open to any student that has genuine request.
The orientation programmes聽ended聽with聽students asking聽pertinent questions concerning their studies and answers were provided accordingly.
