Efforts of the 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN) to make education accessible to all Nigerians irrespective of age, tribe and economic circumstances聽are bearing the expected fruits as a student of the university,聽Jahaziel Bassey Uko聽won聽a prize for emerging second in the聽Akwa Ibom State鈥檚聽essay competition.
The competition was聽organised for undergraduates as part of activities to celebrate聽the state鈥檚聽35-year anniversary.
Uko a 300-level student of Computer Science Education, emerged second聽in the competition which had the topic: “Akwa Ibom, The Land of Limitless Possibilities”聽of 300words聽and聽attracted 469 entries of which about 335 were males and 144 were females.
厂辫别补办颈苍驳听迟辞听狈翱鲍狈听News聽after the award聽ceremony聽held on聽September聽23,聽2022 at the Godswill Akpabio International聽Stadium,聽Uyo, the student expressed satisfaction with聽the flexibility and quality of services in NOUN.
鈥淣OUN service delivery is top-notch with its improvement on comprehensive result portal, the student complaint portal, frequent facilitations, etc. This聽shows that NOUN is improving on聽a聽daily basis,鈥 he said.
Uko stated that he chose to study in NOUN because of its flexibility;聽working and learning, he added,聽has enabled him聽to聽pay his bills as he is solely聽responsible for his bills.

鈥淚 have been doing quite well in my academic and behavioural development.聽I recently got recommended for incubation and zonal competition after carefully writing a Business聽Plan GST302, one with potential to improve quality education and reduce unemployment in Nigeria,鈥 he explained.
The competition鈥檚 runner up, who is gearing towards becoming a Tech-Entrepreneurship and Research Development Scientist focusing on using technology to improve the standard and quality of education as well as making education individualised, added that the quality of services he is receiving in NOUN has convinced him he is treading on a good path of building his career in achieving his goals.
While commending the Vice-Chancellor, the award winner stated that 鈥淚 am so privileged of communicating my view with the Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Olufemi Peters and to my greatest surprise, he actually replied my mail, and that went a long way to prove to me that NOUN is concerned about helping Nigerians grow professionally.鈥
Meanwhile,聽the award earned him聽the聽sum of seven hundred聽and聽fifty thousand聽(N750,000)聽from the Akwa-Ibom聽State, a brand new tablet x8 Samsung and additional of seven hundred and fifty thousand聽(N750,000) from the former governor of Zamfara聽State, His Excellency, Abdul鈥橝ziz Yari.
