The聽Director, Olusegun Obasanjo Centre of African聽Studies,聽水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN-OOCAS), Prof.聽Wilfred Ugwuanyi,聽has sought for a collaboration with the聽academy arm of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission聽(EFCC)聽on聽anti-corruption workshops.

The wide-ranging sensitisation workshops OOCAS sought聽target聽traditional rulers, youth leaders, and community-based organisations.

The director聽dropped this request聽when he led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the EFCC Academy in Karu,聽Abuja, recently.

OOCAS, during the visit, also tabled the need to hold such workshops for INEC and States Independent Electoral Commission in the 36 States on聽聽鈥淓lectoral and Anti-Corruption Campaign in Nigeria.

Other areas are: Collaborative Research on聽Corruption and聽Violence in North-east Nigeria, a聽Book聽Project on Anti-Corruption聽Studies in Nigeria, Development of聽Sensitisation聽Materials on聽Corruption and Anti-Corruption to be disseminated聽to secondary schools and tertiary institutions,聽among others.

鈥淲e seek collaboration with the anti-corruption聽academy; we are devising ways to work together for the progress of our great country and also benefit for Africa,”聽Ugwuanyi said.

Responding, the commandant of EFCC Academy,聽Dr. Joseph Ogwiji,聽welcomed聽the delegation ideas and promised聽that his agency聽was very interested in collaborating with OOCAS.

The OOCAS delegation聽comprised of聽Prof. Kenneth Azingba, Dr. Chidozie Atuonwa and Dr. Kayode Odedino.
