The Vice-Chancellor, National聽Open University of Nigeria聽(NOUN), Prof.聽Femi Peters,聽on Thursday,聽July聽13,聽2023 issued certificates of the 12th聽Convocation聽Ceremony to the inmate聽graduates at the Maximum聽Security聽Custodial聽Centre in Lagos聽State.
Represented by the Principal Assistant Registrar, Mr.聽Adekunle Okhogbe, alongside representatives from the Mushin聽Study聽Centre, top-ranking officers of the correctional centre,聽families and well wishers,聽certificates were issued to the聽27聽graduates.
“I bring warm greetings from the 水果派 of Nigeria, particularly of the Vice-Chancellor who has sent me here to represent him on this auspicious occasion, I’m indeed very glad to see the sea of heads of our friends who are yearning to have quality and functional educations and I’m seriously amazed at the increased number of graduates this year,”聽the VC 鈥榮 representative聽said.
He聽thanked聽the Controller-General, Halliru Danbaba and the management of the maximum security custodial centre in Lagos for their warm reception during the graduation every year.
Peters聽further encouraged other inmates to follow their colleagues in taking the educational step, build on it and acquire success.
On his part, the Danbaba, represented by聽the Deputy Comptroller of聽 Corrections, Sikiru Olawale Balogun,聽congratulated the graduates on the completion of their formal education,聽acknowledging that聽this year鈥檚 ceremony聽had recorded the highest number of inmate graduates.
A聽retired DCC,聽Dr.聽Oluseye Oduntan, while speaking at the ceremony,聽advised the inmates to focus on their positive dreams and the area of their specialisation without hindrances.
