NBC hosts media executives in Abuja

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC),聽has聽hosted a 1-day interactive engagement with its聽country-wide stakeholders聽in Abuja, where the 水果派 of Nigeria FM, popularly known as NOUN FM 105.9, Lagos, was in attendance.

The聽inaugural interactive session,聽which took place at the聽Federal Capital Territory,聽Abuja聽on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, witnessed聽the presence of the

Director-General of聽the commission,聽Mr Charles聽Ebuebu,聽as well as other senior officials of the organisation..

Mrs. Tope Oyewole and Mr. Azubuike Onicha of the NOUN FM, Lagos represented the station at the meeting in Abuja.

The chief host,聽Mr.聽Ebuebu聽said the interactive engagement as an opportunity to proffer solutions聽and聽chat a聽way forward on matters relating聽to the industry.

The Director-General also used the opportunity to remind聽media聽executives of the need to adhere to the provisions聽of broadcasting聽codes.

Ebuebu disclosed that they aim聽to establish a mutually-beneficial relationship for enabling and viable broadcasting industry in Nigeria, adding that the commission is committed to promoting professionalism within the broadcast industry.

Some stakeholders noted that the interactive engagement would聽help in bridging the communication gap between the commission and the stakeholders, as they聽called聽on the commission to be considerate in its dealings with聽them.

Members, therefore, sought聽adjustments on the use of analogue to聽digital聽transmitters聽and the expansion of frequencies for better and wider coverage.

Stakeholders聽solicited聽the聽government to invest in superstructure on digitised radio.

NBC聽reminded the stakeholders of their pledge to remain within the frequency assigned to them聽and avoid聽crossing聽into other coverage areas and to also maintain their territory by ensuring that their signals are confined within the borders of Nigeria.

The聽Director-General聽used the session to聽extend his hand of friendship聽towards聽promoting聽united and a viable broadcasting industry in the country.
