Students of聽BSc Nursing, Public Health聽and M.Sc Public Health聽of the university聽have聽made their seminar聽presentations聽at聽the聽Special Study Centre for the Nigerian Air Force聽(NAF),聽Kaduna.

The presentations were聽part of the聽requirement of courses聽NSC 418,聽PHC 305 and M.Sc Public Health.

Eleven groups drawn from聽Public Health, Nursing Science and M.Sc Public Health presented on various topic of interests聽that are聽relevant to the field of their studies.

The presentation for Public Health was strictly carried out under the supervision and facilitation of Prof.聽Rabi’u Abdulsalam Magaji of the聽Department of Human聽Physiology, Faculty of Basic Medical Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

While Dr. Ibrahim Olukoba Audu facilitated and oversaw聽the presentation for the Nursing Science.

The seminar presentation affected聽Public Health聽students of 500聽and聽300-levels聽and聽their聽M.Sc聽counterparts,聽while only 400-level Nursing Science聽students have made the聽presentation.

Earlier in his speech,聽the聽Director of the Special Study Centre for the Nigerian Air Force,聽Kaduna, Prof.聽Nda E. Mundi stated that the importance of seminar presentation cannot be over emphasised.

鈥淚t is a mandatory聽academic requirement for graduation for the students of Public Health and Nursing Science as recommended by the National Universities Commission,鈥澛爏aid Mundi.

He explained that the聽centre聽used to聽hold聽a聽combined聽seminar presentation at Kaduna Study Centre due to聽a聽less number of students, but聽their聽growing number presently enrolled in the聽courses聽at the聽centre made聽it to聽stand on its feet and hold its own presentation.

Mundi added that the presentation聽was聽not aimed at聽frustrating students but to serve as an avenue through which more ideas and knowledge are acquired.

In her closing remarks,聽the聽Desk聽Officer of the Faculty of Health Science,聽Mrs.聽Bridget Agbor, thanked the聽management of the聽centre for ensuring聽that聽the seminar聽was聽a success.

While thanking the students for the sacrifice聽and making the exercise a reality, she stated that the faculty is growing as more and more students are enrolling.
