
Directors of the McCarthy, Study Centre, Prof. Rotimi Ogidan,聽and his Ibadan counterpart, Prof. Justus Sokefun have congratulated graduates from their respective centres who emerged as the best students in their academic programmes during the recent 水果派 of Nigeria鈥檚 (NOUN)聽11th Convocation Ceremony.
Odufuwa Esther Adeola, from McCarthy centre, emerged as the best graduate in Cooperative Management, while the duo of Jimoh Ayodeji Ezekiel who emerged as the best graduate in Biology Education, and Odugbade Oladipupo Dimeji,聽the best graduate in B. Sc Information Technology,were of the聽Ibadan Sudy Centre.
The trio聽shared experiences with NOUN聽News about their academic achievements in the university.
According to Odufuwa, she stated that the journey was not a smooth one but she forged on despite the challenges faced.
“I learned that success is never cheap;聽it comes with a price to pay. This was achieved through prayer, consistency in studying and never giving up no matter the obstacles.聽It’s only those who made it to the end that will be celebrated. So I鈥檓 glad this dream wasn’t truncated.” she said.
Jimoh Ayodele, who shared his journey said it was tough.聽“NOUN is not for the lazy. I made sure I print my materials ahead for the next semester and start studying before registration.聽Online facilitation also helped me to improve my academic studies. It’s so great being a student of NOUN.”
In his appreciation, Odugbade who acknowledged NOUN as an existing hope for those who almost lost hope in education due to some barriers,聽urged the management to improve more on the flexibility and other ODL systems of education.
Both directors, in their remarks,聽congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
There was a presentation of the awards on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Femi Peters to the graduates.
Meanwhile, a representatives of the NOUN Alumni Association, Lagos, also honoured Miss Odufuwa Esther by presenting her with a gift.
