A virtual training and interactive section for students was held by the management of Lagos Mainland 1 Study Centre of the 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN).

The聽programme commenced with the聽centre鈥檚聽ICT聽staff, Mrs.聽Ifeyinwa Eke anchoring the session with a brief introductory message to the students.

Centre Director,聽Prof.聽Ofe Inua,聽in her聽welcome address, familiarised the new students with NOUN as an ODL institution in West Africa and the largest in Nigeria and also informed them about learning techniques in the聽university.

Inua added that the students should always relate to the聽study聽centre and its activities,聽urging them聽to make use of the online support and different platforms where they can get connected with their learning聽colleagues.

The Director therefore listed聽platforms such as Faculty WhatsApp group, made up of Desk Officer and Co-students, Counselling Telegram platforms, ICT Support, Store and Bursary Support,聽among others.

She also informed students of the provision of聽liaison offices.

“The two Liaison聽Offices in the Mainland, Digital Bridge at Oshodi and NRDEC at Ikeja聽are聽supplementary offices聽where the students can also visit due to movement difficulties, distances and transportation challenges.聽The offices are meant to cater for students who live around the area,”聽she said.

The programme聽featured聽topics such as聽Non-examinable聽Courses in NOUN, Effective Study Habits among Distance Learners,聽What is SIWES?, Student Portal issues, and聽others聽which were聽handled by the centre聽Desk Officers.
