The Director, Iyara Community Study Centre, 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Josephine S. Aina has taken the advocacy聽campaign of the centre to聽Ijumu聽Local聽Government聽Area聽Council of Kogi State.

During the campaign, the聽director, alongside her聽team,聽visited the聽area council聽chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna in his office.

The aim of the visit,聽the director said,聽was to bring to the聽fore聽the opportunities offered by the university.

She enjoined the staff of the council to explore the opportunities NOUN has brought to their doorsteps by enrolling to develop themselves educationally through the Iyara centre.

While putting forth her request to the chairman, she noted the state of the electric transformer at the聽centre,聽which was vandalised,聽and, therefore,聽affected聽the availability of power supply.

As a result,聽she said, the centre solely relies聽on generator for power supply, making the running cost very expensive going by the current economic situation of the country.

The chairman, in his remarks, promised to encourage members of his staff to leverage on the opportunities聽presented聽and聽enrol into the university.

Haruna promised聽to sponsor some of his staff as a form of encouragement, since most of them are not financially buoyant, so as to assist in paying for their education.

On the issue of transformer, the chairman also assured them that a delegation would聽to be sent to check and assess the issue and get back to them.

Like wise, the聽advocacy聽team proceeded to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), secretariat during their Community Development Service (CDS), day to also encourage them to utilise their service year to enrol聽and further their education.

Consequently,聽officials and some of the聽corps聽members聽expressed聽delight聽and聽immediately showed interest to get enrolled.
