Ongoing POP exam at Hadejia centre

The聽Director,聽Hadejia Community Study Centre, Jigawa State,聽Mr. Abdullahi Musa Ya’u,聽said聽that the聽centre聽has continued to聽record smooth conduct of the ongoing 2023_1 Pen-on-Paper聽(POP)聽examination.

Speaking with聽水果派 News聽in his office聽in聽Hadejia, the director said with the help of the聽centre staff,聽coupled聽with the spirit of good work and attitudinal commitment to聽the聽work,聽huge successes have been recorded.

鈥淩ight from the inception of the聽centre in 2021 to date, the聽centre has聽not recorded any major hitches that hindered the administration of examination.

鈥淭herefore, the ongoing examination is going on smoothly without experiencing any problem and聽the students are聽cooperating聽well, respecting the rules and regulations governing the conduct of examination at NOUN,鈥 he said.

Asked about the students enrollment level at the centre, Ya鈥檜 said 鈥淭he number of students is continuing to grow as the聽centre is attracting more and more students.鈥

He added that聽the management of the聽centre has set up an聽advocacy committee that was聽saddled with the responsibility of identifying聽and聽reaching聽out聽areas they think would聽yield more clients聽to the university and boost enrolment level.

鈥淕overnment establishments like schools, local government authorities,聽ministries,聽departments聽and agencies as well as private businesses聽were all mapped聽out for advocacy,鈥 the director said.

Ya鈥檜, therefore, called聽on the the聽university management to provide more security personnel聽to improve on the security strength as the聽centre operates with only one security personnel and聽with no any聽environmental attendant.

This, according to him,聽necessitated the centre to聽absorb聽five ad-hoc staff, for security work聽and one environmental attendant, as it has no perimeter fencing

He further urged the university management to assist聽the centre聽by聽connecting it to the聽national grid as聽the聽day-to-day operation of the centre relies entirely聽on generator for power supply.

The director thanked聽the Vice-Chancellor, Prof.聽Olufemi Peters,聽for his innovation and wonderful works that strategically push聽the university to聽greater heights.
