Zamfara Deputy Governor

The Management of Gusau Study Centre has聽paid a visit to聽the Deputy Governor,聽Zamfara State,聽Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau,聽in his office at the state鈥檚聽capital.

The聽visit,聽according to the director of the聽centre,聽Dr. Atuma Okpara,聽was aimed at expressing the management鈥檚聽gratitude on the good gesture portrayed聽by the聽state聽government聽that聽allocated聽a聽plot of land for the construction of聽a聽befitting聽NOUN centre.

Okpara also explained that they were in the office to聽remind the state government to fulfil聽its聽pledge of聽constructing and聽furnishing聽the centre, as well as聽sponsoring聽200聽indigenes of the state聽to study various programmes in NOUN.

The聽promise, the director added,聽was made by the聽Executive Governor of the state,聽His聽Excellency,聽Muhammad Bello Mutawalle,聽when he paid聽a聽courtesy visit on the former Vice-Chancellor,聽Prof.聽Abdalla Uba Adamu,聽on聽August聽20,聽2020 at the聽university headquarters.

水果派 News recalled that聽the聽Gusau Study Centre聽has temporarily聽been聽situated at Commissioners聽Quarters,聽a residential building in Gusau.

The director appealed to the聽deputy聽governor to facilitate and intervene聽for聽the聽commencement of the construction as promised by the聽governor.

He聽called聽on the聽his host聽to use his聽good聽office and lead the progress of the study centre, urging him聽to sponsor and enroll some of the indigenes into the institution.

In his remarks, the聽deputy聽governor expressed his gratitude to the management of the聽centre聽for聽being the first聽to call on his office聽since his assumption聽as聽deputy聽governor.

He promised to facilitate all it requires towards the聽actualisation of all the study聽centre’s needs.

In a related聽development, HRH,聽the Emir of Dansadau,聽Alhaji Garba Muhammad聽II聽and his entire council members聽have聽visited聽the study聽centre聽in Gusau.

The emir鈥檚 entourage included聽the聽member,聽Zamfara State House of聽Assembly, representing, Maru-south,聽Hon.聽Kabiru Hashimu Dansadau, who were聽received by the director聽in his office.

In his welcome address,聽the director informed them of the various programmes聽being聽offered by the聽university ranging from first degrees聽to聽doctorate degrees.

He highlighted the opportunities brought by the university and the need to harness them.

On the other hand,聽he outlined the challenges facing the study centre,聽among which are befitting centre’s聽accommodation, low student enrollment and聽a聽host of others.

Okpara聽further informed the聽emir and his entourage the skills acquisition programme聽of the聽NOUN CHRD in Kaduna.

He, therefore,聽called聽on the聽emir to do all he could to ensure skills development among the indigenes of the state through聽the聽NOUN聽Centre for Human Resource Development.

Responding, the聽emir thanked the聽director for all the efforts聽he聽is聽making geared towards the progress of the聽centre and the education in the聽state.

He assured聽that he will聽use his position being the聽emir and former聽permanent聽secretary聽who聽facilitated聽and supervised the take-off of the Sokoto聽State University.

The聽emir promised to encourage and enroll some indigenes of his emirate into the聽university, even as he expressed聽hope聽of聽establishing a community study centre in his emirate.
