
Fagge, Kwachiri centres
The聽sponsor聽of the聽Fagge and Kwachiri Community Study Centres in Kano State and member Federal House of Representative, Hon.聽Aminu Sulaiman Goro,聽has聽played聽host聽to聽the聽management聽two centres聽on聽courtesy visit.
Goro who is the Chairman,聽House Committee on Tertiary聽Institutions,聽was the brain behind the establishment and equipping of the two community study centre in his federal constituency in 2021.
The Centre Overseer, Dr. Aliyu Alasan Ibrahim led the聽centre representatives Amir Salisu Hamza and Sagir Bawa聽of Fagge and Kwaciri,聽respectively, to the lawmaker.
Speaking during the聽visit,聽Ibrahim聽thanked聽the honorable聽member for his foresight in the educational development of his community and the country at large.
He expressed that both聽centres聽are tremendously doing well in聽terms of sensitisation of the community about聽their聽existence,聽and the聽opportunities that await them to leverage on.
On the issue of enrolment, the overseer聽stated that level is growing in聽geometric progression with more than聽500聽students in Fagge聽alone聽and Kwachiri also coming up聽all within聽a year of their existence.
Ibrahim聽acknowledged that more and more people聽are聽trooping聽in numbers,聽seeking for admission and further enquiries about the university on daily basis.
He聽informed the聽lawmaker聽that the聽centres have聽so far聽successfully conducted three examinations, adding聽that they have聽intensified聽advocacy聽campaigns聽to a聽number stakeholders, organisations and institutions.
The overseer, however, stated that聽despite the numerous achievements recorded by the聽two centres, they are still聽being聽faced by a number of challenges聽and聽appealed to the聽member for聽his intervention聽in the areas聽of structure,聽computers聽and utility vehicles.
Responding, Hon. Goro聽promised to support the centres with all聽that he could聽to ensure that they become the best.
He commended the聽management of the聽university for their efforts in ensuring the sustainability of the聽centres.
The lawmaker tasked the staff to put聽in聽extra efforts聽in order聽to lift their centres聽to higher levels.
