
The聽 Vice-Chancellor, 水果派 of Nigeria聽(NOUN),聽Prof.聽Olufemi Peters, has said that聽the establishment of Mani Community Study Centre, Katsina State,聽represents聽the convergence of philanthropy and education,聽harmoniously聽blended聽through聽community support and academic excellence.
The Vice-Chancellor聽stated this on Thursday, May 25, 2023 during聽the official聽commissioning聽ceremony聽of聽the new centre in Mani Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Represented by the university鈥檚聽bursar, Mallam Nasir G.聽Marafa,聽Peters disclosed聽that聽the event was聽a testament to the power of collaboration where individuals from different sectors come together to create a space that nurtures intellectual growth, and foster lifelong learning.
The VC鈥檚 representative, accompanied by聽the聽duo of the聽university鈥檚聽Head of Security聽&聽Transport and聽Logistics, Mal.聽Isah聽Shehu and Architect Suleiman聽Haruna聽of聽DPDW&S, added that聽education is the bedrock of progress and development,聽which聽transcends borders, empowers individuals聽and transform communities.
With聽Mani聽Community聽Study聽Centre, NOUN extends聽the boundaries of education, ensuring that Knowledge and opportunities are accessible to all regardless of their socio- economic background and geographical locations, Peters said.
He assured that students of the centre聽will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, a wide array of resources, and a supportive learning environment that encourages聽critical thinking and personal growth.
While turning to Senator Babba Kaita,聽who sponsored the establishment of the centre, the VC聽extended聽NOUN鈥檚聽deepest gratitude, praying that Kaita鈥檚 鈥渘oble philanthropy will have a lasting impact on generations聽to come.鈥

In his speech during the official聽commissioning and聽the subsequent聽inspection of the聽centre,聽the senator said聽the gesture was 鈥渇or the benefit of the people of Mani, Katsina聽North Senatorial聽District and聽Nigeria at large.鈥
He聽said聽education is the bedrock of any development in the society, 鈥渢herefore we聽have聽nothing to do but to provide education to the people.鈥
Kaita聽promised to continue to support the development of the聽centre at any time聽and聽urged the people of Mani to patronise the university as, according to him,聽there is no聽university聽presently in Nigeria聽with the聽legacies聽of NOUN.
He, therefore,聽thanked聽the聽university for its collaborative effort in聽providing education to every Nigerian.
There were聽Goodwill Messages by the Chairman, Mani Local Government Area,聽Dr. Yunusa Bagiwa,聽who was the聽Chief聽Host and also the representative of the聽Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency, Aminu Bello Masari.
The ceremony also received聽the blessings of聽the Royal Father of the occasion, Durbin Katsina, District Head of Mani, Alhaji Babani Isa Mani, while聽the聽centre director, Mr. Shamwil Salisu Bala gave the vote of thanks.
