As聽part of his familiarisation visits聽to some of the critical stakeholders of the university since assumption of duty, the Director,聽Kaduna Study Centre, Mr. Yusuf Abdullahi, has paid a visit聽to聽the headquarters of the Nigeria Correctional Service聽(NCS),聽Kaduna Command.
The director said聽he was at the command, being one of those with an existing partnership with NOUN,聽to introduce聽himself as the new helmsman of the Kaduna centre.
Abdullahi explained that the collaboration between the two agencies was capped with an international recognition聽that saw NOUN and NCS received the UNESCO聽award in France.
He acknowledged that the 水果派 of Nigeria is one of the catalysts聽through which corrections were impacted, stressing that聽research, teaching and community services were the substance precipitated the聽collaboration.聽聽
The director appealed for the sustainability of the collaborative efforts聽that existed between the two agencies and聽expressed聽hope for its expansion.聽
In his response, the Comptroller of the Correctional Service,聽Kaduna Command, Mr.聽Audu Umar, expressed his delight for receiving the team, even as he relished the meeting familiar faces.聽
The comptroller said the existing collaborative project between the university and the NCS has come a long way,聽which is so beneficial to the inmates and, there,聽gave the correction department a pass mark.
Umar聽promised to continue being the ambassador of the university, as he聽appealed to the management of the university to extend its educational gesture to other correctional centres across the state,聽especially that of Zaria.
While stating that education is a panacea for the reduction of crimes聽in the society, he also pledged to pay similar聽visit to the Kaduna Study Centre in the future.
The team later visited the prison yard and had an interactive discussion with the inmate students.
