Dei-Dei centre’s advocacy team visiting police stations

In a bid to increase the enrollment of students, the advocacy team of the聽Special聽Study Centre, Nigerian Police, Dei-Dei, 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN),聽Abuja, has聽taken聽its advocacy campaign to its environs.

The series of a week-long advocacy聽visits,聽which has become a聽norm聽for the centre every semester, was led by the聽director,聽Dr. Samson. S.聽Afolabi,聽and聽visited various locations聽in their immediate environment.

They visited聽Zuba聽District聽Police聽Station, General Hospital, Black and聽White Secondary School,聽Kubwa, Building聽Material聽Market, FRSC Dei-Dei聽Unit聽Command聽and other organisations in the centre鈥檚 proximity.

 

Dai-Dei advocacy visitThe team stormed 聽Zuba, Dei-Ddei and Kubwa communities, which preached聽the gospel of Open and Distance聽Learning (ODL) mode of learning to them,聽and聽informed them that the university has聽study聽centres in every state capitals as well as some towns in Nigeria, with seven situated in聽Abuja alone for them to take the opportunity and enroll.

Afolabi聽gave a detailed explanation of the programmes the university offers,聽saying that聽鈥淣OUN runs many undergraduate programmes, which include Diploma, BSc., Masters to Ph.D. levels.鈥

He聽said聽the university has equal standard with any other聽federal聽university in Nigeria and the聽certificate of NOUN is of high standard tenable and acceptable anywhere in the聽world.

He reiterated the uniqueness of the university, saying they can keep their full time job alongside their studentship while they have the opportunity of spacing their studies, and can study anywhere at any time.

Most聽of the聽courses, the director聽said,聽are taught online and there are well-prepared, simplified and easy to learn course materials in the university portal.

Afolabi聽added聽that one of the benefits of enrolling into NOUN is that with their聽android phones聽or laptops, they can get registered for the number of courses they can cope with.

Regarding the admission process,聽he told them that they do not need JAMB examination to be admitted into NOUN, but with their聽five聽credits with English and Mathematics they will be admitted into any course of their choice as聽age is not a barrier.

He advised them to take steps towards enrolling into the study centre now, which is located inside the Directorate of Education for the Nigerian Police Force at Dei-Dei,聽saying聽the聽centre is not for police alone, but for everyone.

At the end of the series of the advocacy campaigns聽for the semester, the聽centre management聽expressed聽satisfaction聽as聽the people also were given opportunity to ask questions, who equally聽assured the聽centre聽of their readiness to聽take actions immediately.
