The Coordinator, Kano Conference Marking Centre,聽and聽the聽Dean,聽Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor聽Moses Etila聽Shuaibu,聽聽has on Saturday,聽May聽21,聽2022 briefed subject officers and markers ahead of the commencement of聽the聽just concluded 2022_1 Pen-on-Paper marking exercise in Kano.

Speaking at the briefing聽exercise,聽the聽coordinator extended the felicitation of the聽NOUN聽Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Peters to the subject officers as well the markers for their聽sacrifices聽towards聽making聽the university great.

He urged the markers to continue exhibiting their good gestures聽as the university is doing its聽best to ensure things are better off in a short while.

He called聽on the participants to work as a team so as to display the spirit of unity,聽which will lead to achieving the desired聽success of the exercise.

Shuaibu聽assured that聽all efforts were put聽in place聽to ensure successful exercise, saying that聽all things being聽equal the exercise will be completed within the scheduled time-frame.

A total number of聽28, 422 scripts,聽including聽35聽late registrations scripts were聽received聽from聽13聽study聽centres of the university for marking.

The scripts聽have聽since been sorted out and distributed out to the various markers聽for the commencement of聽the marking as scheduled,聽the聽coordinator聽said.

He聽thanked聽the Kano Study Centre director,聽Mr. Muddasir Ahmad Ishaq, for his commitment and determination geared towards ensuring the exercise recorded聽the聽desired success.

On the other hand, the representative of the聽Director, Directorate of Examination and Assessment,聽Mr. Abdulmumin Hassan, also thanked聽the Kano Centre director for the provision of transport聽logistics聽of subject officers and materials.

Hassan聽stated that the聽directorate is available to provide support services to the markers, checkers and subject officers by providing all necessary facilities.

He emphasised on the need to be partners and also work as聽a聽team.

Dwelling on the scripts inventory management, he聽sued聽for absolute concentration so as to avoid complications.

鈥淢arkers should be sure of what聽is contained in the envelop must equate the number of scripts clearly spelled聽out聽on the envelope,” said聽Hassan.

On the issue of examination malpractice, he urged the markers that once any suspicious聽script聽dictated they should no hesitate to forward it to relevant authority.

Speaking聽on聽behalf of the Directorate of Management Information System, Mrs. Halima Noura Bamalli, promised to show and supply聽subjects officers聽with聽a guide to ease聽the聽process.

She drew the attention of the subject officers to be extraordinarily careful when allocating the envelops scripts to the markers.

鈥淥n uploading scores,they should try as much as they can in order not to change any file as it was originally uploaded,鈥 said Bamalli.

The聽Director, Kano Study Centre, Mr. Muddasir Ahmad Ishaq, in his remarks, said the聽centre聽had聽received聽28,422聽scripts from聽13 study centres.

He drew the attention of聽the聽authority concerned聽to give much attention and priority to the original markers and聽facilitators.

He urged them to come together to work as a family for the success of the exercise and the university.

He assured聽that聽a logistics聽bus has been provided for easy movement of the officers to聽and聽from their place of accommodation to the venue of the exercise on聽a聽daily basis, until the end of the exercise.

Ishaq聽also promised to聽be with the marking team聽through out their stay at the聽centre.
