
Dutse centre director
The聽Vice-Chancellor,聽水果派 of Nigeria聽(NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters,聽has聽approved the聽appointment of聽Dr. Ahmad Tanimu Mahmoud as the new director, Dutse Study Centre of聽Jigawa State.
Mahmoud took over from Dr. Aliyu Musa,聽who聽now returns聽to聽the聽Faculty Agricultural Sciences.
In a chat with聽水果派 News聽in Dutse,the newly appointed director, said although it聽came to him as a聽surprise,聽yet he summoned the needed mental strengths for his new responsibilities as the聽leader.
“I quickly put a call to the聽registrar,聽Army聽University,聽who is an uncle to me,聽and asked聽him for his advice;聽same to the Provost,聽Nigerian Police Academy,聽as a father,聽(and)聽they gave an idea of what聽to do.
鈥淭hat served a measure for success and has been helpful since聽I聽assumed duty,鈥漢e said.
Speaking on his plans for the development of the聽centre, the director said he聽would聽do all聽he聽could to ensure聽that聽the聽centre secures聽a well-structured building.
Furthermore, the director hinted that聽one of聽his goals is revirtalizing the advocacy scheme in such a way that聽the聽elites, traditional rulers, stakeholders, politicians, amongst聽others聽come together so that the university will enhance its聽enrollment.
Mahmoud said he intends to uplift the聽Dutse centre鈥檚聽capacity聽so as to either compete with other mega聽study聽centres聽like the聽Model聽Study聽Centre in Abuja,聽Kano聽or聽Kaduna.
He, therefore,聽thanked聽the university management for finding him worthy of this demanding assignment.
The director, whose appointment letter, signed by Dr. Muyiwa Akintola, said he would also be overseeing the affairs of Hadejia Study Centre,聽called聽on the聽management not to relent on聽the聽usual support聽to the centre.
Dutse Study Centre, according him, has been lacking in certain important items like computers, fans, and ACs for the e-examination hall, ever聽since the fire incidence that engulfed聽the聽centre聽in the past.
