The聽Department of Nursing Sciences, 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN), has commenced an Objectivity Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for BNSc聽students,聽which is the first of its kind in the history of the university.

The examination,聽currently聽ongoing across some selected study centres nationwide,聽is being coordinated by examiners, preceptors and desk officers of the faculty聽at the聽various study centres聽in the country.

Students from Bauchi, Gombe, Jalingo, Yola, and Damaturu Study Centres聽are holding聽their exercises聽in the specialist hospitals domiciled within the metropolitan聽city of their respective states.

Dr. Anita Lukong,聽who led the supervision and coordination team in聽Bauchi, Gombe and Yola聽states,聽said the average performances of the students were mostly good.

A student from Gombe Study Centre who had just聽finished the聽examination described it as simple and straightforward.

She appreciated the department of Nursing Sciences for coming up with such innovation and urged the university management to maintain the tempo.

OSCE is a modern type of examination often used in health sciences to assess clinical skill performance聽and聽competence in skills such as communication, clinical examination, medical聽and聽nursing procedures in which examiners use checklist for evaluation聽 and rotation of students around a number of stations with some stations having observers.
