The聽Policy Advocacy and Integrity Network Nigeria (PAINN) and聽the聽Centre for Transparency Watch (CTW) have commended the 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN) for its transparent bids opening processes on TETFund-financed projects for the聽university.

The聽PAINN聽Executive Director,聽Mr. Joshua Foluwasayo Mesele and the representative of CTW, 聽Mr. Emmanuel Ayuk, who served as the external observers, gave this commendation on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 during the bids opening exercise at the university’s headquarters, Jabi, Abuja.

In his opening remark, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Technology, Innovation and Research (DVC-TIR), Prof. Monioluwa Olaniyi, while 聽assuring the bidders of transparency, fairness and openness in the exercise, added that the technical stage of the bid has been handled.

On his part, the Acting Head, Directorate of Procurement, in his opening address, Mr. Kazeem Onubaiye, promised the bidders openness and transparency in the whole exercise, saying聽that “Open University is where things are done openly.”

No fewer than聽18 companies submitted bids to聽construct Academic Staff Building, Auditorium Building, External Works at study centres, and provision of Power Infrastructure at the NOUN headquarters.
