Awa Ijebu centre matriculation ceremony

The聽Awa Ijebu Community聽Study聽Centre,聽水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN), has聽hosted an聽orientation聽exercise聽and聽matriculation ceremony for new students.

The centre also conducted an聽examination briefing for returning students.

Director聽of the centre,聽Dr. Olufunke Osikomaiya,聽said聽during the orientation聽exercise that the fresher must appreciate聽the importance commitment, discipline, and upholding the institution’s standards聽during their stay with the university.

The event also featured a comprehensive introduction to the various departments and their functions within the NOUN Awa Ijebu聽community聽centre.

Heads of unit and other senior staff members聽explained, in details,聽the roles of departments such as Learner Support Services, Registry, Bursary, Library, Store, and the Director’s Office.

The freshers were informed on guidance and regulations governing both TMA’s and examinations.聽Timely preparation聽for the examination聽and the consequences of engaging in聽malpractice were also聽stressed.

Dr. Adekunle Adebanjo provided valuable details on academic matters and the importance of adhering to ethical standards during examinations.

The聽centre聽also live-streamed聽the matriculation ceremony for the benefit of absentees and remote viewers. The ceremonial matriculation oaths were duly administered to all attending students, symbolising their official induction into the NOUN community.

Through this inclusive approach, Awa Ijebu centre聽ensured that even those unable to physically attend the event聽were able to partake聽in this significant milestone of their academic journey.

In sharing her experience, Mrs. Odulaja Olunfunke Kikelomo, an聽alumna of the Faculty of Law, shared her academic excellence, success strategies, and valuable tips for navigating through NOUN educational system.

Her motivating speech聽was aimed at聽encouraging聽the new students to focus on their studies, avoid distractions, and uphold moral values, both within and outside the university.

The event,聽which was concluded with a health awareness session, featured volunteer nursing students who conducted free blood pressure and sugar level check-ups to staff and students.
