
Mani centre’s visit to LEA
In聽its聽quest to project the university to the聽general聽public, the聽Director, Mani Community Study Centre,聽Katsina State,聽Mr. Shamwil Bala Salisu,聽has led a team to the聽Mani聽Local Government聽Education Authority.
The聽centre,聽which was recently established,聽has geared its聽incipient聽efforts towards聽familiarisation with聽stakeholders to sell the university to the public for possible consumption.
Representative of the Secretary, Local Education Authority (LEA),聽Alh.聽Bishir Ahmad Machika, along other directors and senior staff of the聽authority received the NOUN team
Briefing them聽on the聽purpose聽of the visit, Salisu聽discussed聽the historical trends of the聽university from 1983 to date,聽as well as聽the admission procedure, requirements and聽the聽mode of instruction聽delivery.
He聽said聽all programmes聽run by聽the聽university have聽the National Universities Commission (NUC)聽accreditation,聽adding that NOUN聽certificate聽is聽acceptable聽like聽any other university in the country and beyond.
Teachers in聽the local government聽and its environs do not need to go for any in-service training again, as NOUN can train them while they are still at their duty post without leaving a聽vacuum, the director stated.
In his response, the representative of the聽secretary, thanked the聽centre for the visits and appreciated NOUN for considering them as one of the most important place to showcase the opportunities of the university, targeting聽especially the primary school teachers.
Machika assured the director that聽the聽LEA is ready to partner with the university in the areas of staff training.
He particularly聽expressed聽happiness聽for the聽plan by the centre director聽to visit聽every聽primary school in order to have an interactive session with the teachers,

The visit drew its聽curtain by entertaining and responding to the questions聽raised by some of the directors and staff of the聽LEA.
