Mani centre’s advocacy

The聽Mani Community Study Centre, 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN)聽has聽visited the Chairman, Mashi Local Government Area, Katsina State聽and聽the聽Iyan Katsina,聽District聽Head of Mashi, where the centre explained the advocacy messages at the two places.

The team,聽which was led by the聽Ag.聽Centre聽Director,聽Mr.聽Shamwil Salisu Bala,聽was聽first聽hosted by the Iyan Katsina,聽the聽District聽Head of Mashi,聽Alhaji Kabiru Ibrahim Aminu in his Palace.

Speaking,聽Bala聽highlighted the historical trends in the evolution of the聽university聽and聽urged the district head to assist聽the people聽in聽his area of jurisdiction to embrace the university as it is the university of the moment.

The聽Ag.聽director urged the good people of the聽palace to share the opportunities聽to聽others聽as the university has so聽many聽bountiful聽opportunities to harness.

He emphasised on the need for the district head,聽as a major community stakeholder,聽to mobilise philanthropists, politicians and other well-meaning individuals to sponsor intending applicants into聽the聽university.

In his remarks, the district head expressed his appreciation over the establishment of the聽university in the zone and the courtesy visit paid on him as a stakeholder.

He promised to meet all the relevant stakeholders including the聽state and聽the national assembly members as well as聽other well-to-do聽individuals聽within his jurisdiction to ensure聽that聽they聽sponsor interested, qualified and less-privileged聽ones聽and support the聽centre in all its聽activities.

At聽聽the聽Mashi Local Government Secretariat, the team was received by the聽Honourable聽Chairman,聽Alhaji Salisu Kalle Mani in his office.

In his address,聽 Mr. Salisu thanked the chairman for granting the team audience and assured him of the centre鈥檚 readiness to key-in聽to his administration鈥檚聽agenda of making higher education accessible to the indigenes of聽the聽Local Government.

Responding , the聽chairman informed the team that he is adequately aware of the existence of the NOUN, being an MSc Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution student.

According to聽him, the nature of the university conforms聽with his busy schedule and this allows him to further his studies while still leading the council.

He assured the team of his maximum support and promised聽to encourage LGA staff to enrol as聽their聽studies聽will not temper with their official duties.

The chairman said聽he聽is聽currently in Katsina Study Centre pursuing his masters programme聽and聽demonstrated his readiness to support the聽university.

Both the聽cairman and the聽district聽head were presented with NOUN souvenirs聽by聽the聽acting聽centre director.
