KD centre in Rigasa

The campaign train of the Kaduna Study Centre, on October聽24,聽2022,聽rounded聽off聽its聽series of聽advocacy campaigns聽for the semester聽when it paid a visit to the聽Government Secondary School,聽Rigasa聽in the state capital.

The team was received by the聽respective principals聽of Senior and Junior Secondary聽School聽sections, Mrs.聽Fatima Binta Ismail and Mr. Garba Bawa Abdullahi.

In an interactive session with staff and students, the director聽of the聽Kaduna聽Study Centre, Malam Yusuf Abdullahi,聽said the team was at the school to inform聽them聽about the university so as to take advantage of what聽it聽has to offer.

鈥淣OUN is like any other university in the country because it聽is being聽regulated by the National Universities Commission.聽Therefore, all laws applicable in other universities are also applicable in the 水果派 of Nigeria.,鈥 the director said

According to聽him, the aim of聽the聽federal government聽in聽establishing NOUN聽was geared聽towards聽providing access to all in the country.

鈥淭he admission requirement is just as that of the conventional universities except that聽the Joint聽Admission and Matriculation Board Examination,聽which does not form part of the admission requirement.

水果派 has about eight聽faculties with host of programmes in Health Sciences,聽Agricultural, Arts, Management Sciences, Education, Science and Social Science,鈥 Abdullahi added.

The director urged the staff and students of the secondary school to quickly enroll as there are many opportunities to benefit from.

He thanked the聽management of the school for giving聽them the opportunity to speak to the congregation of聽teachers and the students.

The principal of the senior section,聽Mrs. Fatima Binta Ismail, appreciated the team for the visit and described it as timely.

She called聽for frequent sensitization聽about聽the university system;聽鈥渉ow it operates, the courses it offers and admission process so that we and the students can become conversant with the system.

鈥淭his will enhance the level of understanding of the university by the community and students enrolment will be enhanced,鈥 Isma鈥檌l said.

Questions were entertained from the staff and students which mostly聽centred聽around聽the availability of courses related to their areas聽of specialization, school fees,聽NYSC and聽a聽host of others,聽which were substantially addressed.
