
Acting聽Director聽of聽the聽Gulak Community Study Centre, 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN), Mrs. Margaret Yamtu, has expressed her profound gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Adamawa State University (ADSU), Dr. Stephen A. Lagu,聽for releasing parts of the university’s facilities to serve the聽study聽centre.
The gesture followed聽a renovation work at聽the聽Mubi North聽Local聽Government secretariat where the study centre is formally situated.
The director made the remark in the course of a thank-you visit which she paid to the聽Vice-Chancellor聽on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the university in Mubi town, Adamawa聽State.
Some of the facilities to聽henceforth聽be used by the聽study聽centre include staff offices, course materials stores, e-library, auditorium, e-exams halls,聽among others.
The director extolled the manifest leadership abilities of the Vice-Chancellor as well as his disposition as a person while praying for a harmonious working environment with the university.
Yamtu聽assured the VC that the relationship between the two universities will continue to prosper while showcasing the new and the advance courses offered by NOUN.
The information聽from the director聽elicited a promise from the elated Vice-Chancellor, who said he would聽patronise the study centre.
It could be recalled that聽Gulak Community聽Study聽Centre was destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents in 2014,聽which necessitated the relocation of the centre to Mubi town for the continuation of academic activities.
The director said effort is聽under-way聽to reach out to the state government to reconstruct the study centre at Gulak since聽normalcy聽has returned to the region.
The management of the study centre also paid a congratulatory visit to one of the centre’s facilitators:聽Dr. Sulaiman Yakubu,聽who was recently appointed as the Provost of College of Health Technology, Mubi, Adamawa state.
Yakubu equally聽promised to extend the messages of NOUN to his students and lecturers.
