
In an effort to achieve the greater聽enrolment聽rate in the 水果派 of Nigeria (NOUN),聽the Director of Abeokuta聽Study聽Centre,聽Dr.聽Oyekunle Adegboyega and his advocacy team聽have聽paid a courtesy visit to聽the聽Commissioner of Environment, Ogun State,聽Engineer. Dr.聽Ola Oresanya.
Adegboyega聽said聽the visit was to familiarise and sensitise the host about聽the聽Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode of education as exemplified in NOUN.
While expressing his appreciation towards the warm reception accorded his team, he disclosed NOUN’s flexibility, affordability and聽the聽鈥渘o age barrier鈥澛爉ode of learning.
The director聽further sought the commissioner’s assistance in discouraging the conversion of the outward part of the聽centre into a motor park,聽explaining the reason for erecting聽a barricade in front of the聽centre’s gate.
Adegboyega聽also requested the聽commissioner’s assistance on waste management.
In his response, the聽commissioner appreciated the director and the management of NOUN,聽describing his visitor聽as a driver that drives the vision of the university.
Oresanya聽advised that his staff needed to be well-guided so that they could choose programmes that would improve their careers.
The commissioner expressed no objection to the barricade and suggested that the聽centre should look into how waste could聽be recycled for use.
At the end of the visit,聽a NOUN聽souvenir was presented to the commissioner on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof.聽Olufemi Peters.
